Rheumatology (Bulgaria), Volume 33, Issue 4 (2025) features original research articles, comprehensive reviews, and a clinical case report covering key domains in modern rheumatology. The issue addresses vascular involvement in spondyloarthritis, interventional approaches in osteoarthritis, and the evolving role of cytokines in disease pathogenesis and therapy. 

Additional contributions explore emerging concepts in osteoarthritis biology and present a clinically relevant case of overlapping rheumatic diseases. Together, these articles highlight current advances, unresolved challenges, and the translational direction of the field.

Open Access Policy and Author Requirements

Rheumatology (Bulgaria) operates under a fully Open Access model. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

All submissions must be prepared in English, including the full text and metadata. A Bulgarian abstract with keywords may be present.

The journal adheres to international standards of publication ethics and transparent editorial practice.

Editorial Board Renewal and International Expansion

As part of the journal’s modernization strategy, the Editorial Board has been expanded to include internationally recognized experts in rheumatology and autoimmune diseases.

This renewal strengthens the peer-review process, reinforces ethical standards, and enhances the journal’s international visibility. Rheumatology (Bulgaria) remains indexed in Scopus and continues to follow internationally accepted publishing standards.

Articles in Press Now Available

Rheumatology (Bulgaria) has introduced an Articles in Press publication model.

Accepted manuscripts are now published online immediately after final editorial approval and production, prior to assignment to a specific issue. Each article receives a permanent DOI upon publication and is fully citable.

This model ensures rapid dissemination of clinically relevant and scientifically robust research in rheumatology and related fields.
